Meet Michal Kavalčík
Michal Kavalčík is a popular Czech actor, musician, and radio host. He studied music and drama at the Ostrava Conservatory and has since built an extensive portfolio of roles in plays and movies throughout the Czech Republic. In addition to releasing his own music, Michal is a well-known host on the pop music station Kiss Radio.
The brief
Michal reached out with a request to shoot a music video for his new single “A Bude Klid”. The only caveat: we had 24 hours to film the entire video from start to finish. The music video needed to be stylish and align its visuals with the meaning of Michal’s song. Our goal was to create a music video that would trend online in order to promote “A Bude Klid”.
Dropping the music video (and the beat)
After I found locations that fit the video’s indoor and outdoor scenes, we started shooting as soon as possible. As the sun went down, I worked around the lack of natural light by using advanced lighting setups to capture the perfect image and upbeat mood of the song. Within a day, I had the footage I needed for the final edit. As of writing, the music video for “A Bude Klid” has over 35,000 views and the song itself continues to be played on several Czech radio stations.
